Founded in 2018, The Wood is a rock band formed by nine parents from the Baywood neighborhood in San Mateo, California.

The Wood has played dozens of shows at venues around the Peninsula, from BBQ events to street parties to fundraisers. Recent shows have included Burlingame’s On The Avenue street fair, the San Mateo County Fair, San Benito House in Half Moon Bay and Alice’s Restaurant in Woodside.

The band plays classic and alternative rock from the last 50 years, including music by Led Zeppelin, the Cars, Rolling Stones, and Alabama Shakes.
